I’ve always been fascinated with the art of femininity. Being a girl is just the most wonderful thing (most of the time). Women are powerful. As a little kid I used to admire grown women with fabulous long lashes, carefully styled hair and the scent of flowery fragrance. Women who are vulnerable and confident at the same time. Women who know how to reach their goals. Choosing a pretty outfit and taking the time to apply your favorite make-up can be a true pleasure. We all know it’s about more then your appearance only, it make you feel good on the inside as well. So from time to time put on your favorite music, light some candles and grab a glass of wine while dolling up. Celebrate femininity, celebrate being a girl, celebrate being you!

Vrouwelijkheid heeft mij altijd gefascineerd. Een meisje zijn is gewoon iets geweldigs (meestal dan). Vrouwen zijn krachtig. Als klein kind keek ik op tegen volwassen vrouwen met prachtige lange wimpers, voorzichtig gestyled haar en de geur van bloemetjes parfum. Vrouwen die zowel kwetsbaar en zelfverzekerd zijn. Vrouwen die weten hoe ze hun doelen kunnen bereiken. Je kunt echt genieten van het uitkiezen van een mooie outfit en lekker met je make-up aan de slag te gaan. Wij vrouwen weten allemaal dat het om meer draait dan alleen wat je naar buiten toe draagt, het is ook iets waardoor je, je lekker van binnen gaat voelen. Dus zet zo nu en dan je favoriete muziek op, steek kaarsjes aan en pak er een glas wijn bij terwijl je jezelf optut. Vier vrouwelijkheid, vier het meisjes zijn, vier dat je jezelf bent!

Françoise Hardy is a French singer and actress. I don’t know a lot about her but I do know she was part of the Yé-yé wave back in the days. I’m mostly appealed to her typical french sense of style. Very natural and soft but also kind of rock and roll. These are my favorite pictures of her at a younger age.

Françoise Hardy is een franse zangeres en actrice. Ik weet niet superveel over haar maar ik weet dat ze vroeger deel van de Yé-yé wave was. Ik vind vooral haar kledingstijl cool. Het is best wel naturel en zacht maar ook weer een beetje rock & roll. Dit zijn mijn favoriete foto’s van haar.

Nog wat foto’s van mijn favoriete blouse met ruiten. Het lijkt misschien een beetje op de binnenkant van een picknick mandje maar ik ben gewoon dol op deze kleine rood/witte ruitjes. Hier draag ik het met een spijkerbroek. Dit is iets wat makkelijk te combineren is en is prima om te dragen naar school, werk of elke andere gelegenheid overdag.

Hauntingly beautiful inspiration this tuesday. This is a magazine editorial from Harper’s Bazaar UK. Photography by Alexi Lubomirski. Posing for the pictures is British singer and model Karen Elson. The shoot is all about spring. I’m mesmerized. It has a romantic and dramatic feel to it. That red hair is gorgeous, makes me think twice about my own hair color…enjoy all the pictures.

Dinsdag is een mooie dag voor inspiratie. Bijna spookachtig maar ook prachtig zijn deze foto’s  van Harper’s Bazaar UK. De foto’s zijn geschoten door Alexi Lubomirski. Britse Zangeres en model Karen Elson poseerde voor de shoot. Deze serie ademt lente. Ik ben betoverd. Het heeft iets romantisch en dramatisch, dat vind ik mooi. Dat rode haar vind ik ook prachtig, het laat mij twijfelen aan mijn eigen haarkleur…hoop dat je geniet van de mooie foto’s.

Today I’m wearing a shirt with red and white plaids. I was dolling up and acting silly with this big red bow. It’s so girly and cute. I just want to carry it around everywhere. BTW, I have to admit I have lots of bows and ribbons in pretty much every color of the rainbow. Guess it’s just one of my obsessions

Heb een beetje zitten nadenken over wat ik tot nu toe heb gedaan en bereikt en wat ik nog meer zou willen doen in de toekomst. I’ve been having some allergies this week. my doctors says it’s hay fever or something. Pretty annoying but the perfect opportunity to look up pictures and videos of celebrity outfits. Talk of the week is of course the MET Gala 2013, with a theme like ‘punk’ you know it’s going to be a fashion spectacle. Fun theme if you ask me. It’s always exciting to see what celebrities are going to wear. Especially the ones that aren’t all that punk themselves. On days when I’m staying in I like to wear comfortable pajamas. These floral bottom is kind of cute, my mom always buys me jammies no matter what age She is the sweetest! Usually I flip trough the newest magazines in bed and drink some herbal tea. This tea is from a brand called Pukka, I recently discovered it and it’s really good.  More pictures and my favorite MET Gala celebrity outfits below.

Deze week heb ik last van allergieën. Mijn arts zegt dat het hooikoorts is. Best wel irritant maar het perfecte excuus om celebrity outfit foto’s en video’s op te zoeken. Iedereen heeft het deze week ook over het MET Gala 2013. Het thema was ‘punk’, dat is gegarandeerd altijd een fashion spektakel. Super leuk thema als je het mij vraagt. Het is altijd spannend om te kijken wat de celebs zullen dragen. Vooral diegenen die he-le-maal niet punk zijn van zichzelf. Op dagen dat ik binnen blijf draag ik vaak comfortabele pyjama’s. Deze broek met bloemetjes vind ik best wel leuk. Mijn moeder koopt altijd PJs voor me, op wat voor leeftijd dan ook Ze is zo lief! Ik lees regelmatig magazines in bed en drink dan een heerlijk kopje kruiden thee. Deze thee is van het merk Pukka, een merk dat ik recentelijk heb ontdekt. Het is echt lekker. More of my live art at the party. Yesterday I posted part 1 of the photo diary about a rooftop party where I was making live art. This is part 2. Yesterday I was booked to make exclusive t-shirt designs. It was during a rooftop party from C&A in Rotterdam. This time I was asked to make illustrations by hand on Tees. Actually they were tank tops. I made them for the guests and press. The weather was lovely and the fashion crowd was dressed to impress. To add to the ultimate summer feeling awesome bites & beats were provided. Everyone seemed to loved my t-shirt designs. They were waiting at my table to get one. Thanks for the love. Party theme was; Summer in the City. Check out part 1 of the colorful pictures below.

Gisteren was ik geboekt om t-shirt designs te maken tijdens een heus rooftop feestje van C&A in Rotterdam. Dit keer was de opdracht om met de hand geverfde illustraties te maken op T-shirts voor de gasten. Het weer was heerlijk, het zonnetje straalde lekker en de fashion crowd zag er ook tip top uit. Ook de heerlijke beats and bites zorgenden voor een optimaal zomer gevoel.  Het thema was: Summer in the City. Bekijk deel 1 van de kleurrijke foto’s hieronder.

Hier, pendant une fête de promotion sur les toits du C&A à Rotterdam, on m’avait réservée pour faire de l’art sur place. Cette fois, on m’avait demandé d’illustrer des t-shirts pour les invités. Pour le thème, c’était : «  L’été en ville ».

A couple of days ago I was interviewed for Fashionista magazine. The photo shoot took place in my illustration atelier. We were shooting with photographer Beata Fortuna, she is such an amazing and creative person. She really knows how to make a girl feel comfortable in front of the lens. We already knew each-other so we had a great connection during the shoot. The entire day we were making jokes and laughing.The interview will be published this summer.

Een aantal dagen geleden ben ik geïnterviewd door Fashionista Magazine. De foto’s zijn in mijn atelier genomen. De fotograaf was Beata Fortuna, zij is echt een leuk en creatief mens. Ze weet ook hoe je iemand comfortabel maakt voor de lens. Wij kenden elkaar al dus we hadden een goede klik tijdens de photo shoot. Gedurende de hele dag waren we grapjes aan het maken en aan het lachen. Het interview zal deze zomer uitkomen.   

Il y a quelques jours de cela, j’ai été interviewée pour le magazine Fashionista. Les photos ont été prises dans mon atelier. La photographe c’était Beata Fortuna, une personne vraiment sympa et très créative. Elle sait vraiment comment vous mettre a l’aise devant l’objectif. On se connaissait déjà et ça facilitait bien des choses pendant la séance photo. On a plaisanté et rigolé toute la journée. L’interview sera publiée cet été.
